Almost our last day in New Zealand…..and this was a great place to spend it.
Re:Start is an outdoor retail shopping mall consisting of temporary buildings made from shipping containers. It opened in October 2011 following the severe earthquakes that destroyed many important parts of the city during 2010. It is a fantastically positive and colourful response by the people of Christchurch.
Designed by Neil Dawson, The Chalice stands in the Cathedral Square and is made up of of 42 different native leaf patterns.
These large, extraordinary natural boulders are found on the Koekohe beach on the Otago coast of New Zealand. Exposed by the wave action of the sea – many are almost perfectly round – some in groups, some isolated.
Beautiful place for scenery and wildlife…
