It was extraordinary to see F Murray Abraham, one of the main stars of Homeland, live on the stage of a tiny theatre in Bath. Well supported in a cast of just four people, he played the role of the mentor with great humour, fabulous timing and every now and then he showed us some of the power that he has as an actor.
The Mentor is a new German play, beautifully translated by Christopher Hampton.
A fabulous part of the Yorkshire Dales….snowy peaks, waterfalls, streams and the stunning scenery make this a fantastic place to walk.
There is so much colour at Westonbirt at the moment – it seems a shame not to share it with you…
Our roadtrip to the north had to take in Cumbria. These shots include: in and around Coniston; Windermere; snow at Spark Bridge; cows at Low Sizergh Farm; and Kendal Parish Church.
Anyone who thinks trees are mainly green and brown may be surprised by the variety of colour at Westonbirt at the moment…
We stayed in a quayside hotel by the Tyne for a couple of nights. It is a lovely area and these shots include: the Gateshead Millenium Bridge; the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art; Sage Gateshead; the Malmaison hotel; a view of Newcastle from the Baltic Centre; and an exhibit at the Baltic which makes the the main stairwell look as though it goes on forever.
Signs of the new season are springing up all over Westonbirt, the National Arboretum. Now all we need is a little bit of sun….
